Carmen Mainer Martín

Bassoon player

After starting with piano and recorder, Carmen began bassoon at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Huesca (Spain). She continued her studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón in the class of Juan Sapiña Riera from which she graduated in 2012.

Carmen collaborates with several orchestras and chamber music ensembles, including the Octuor de France, Quatuor Sorella & Emmanuel Rossfelder, Orchestre Symphonique d’Orléans, Le Concert impromtpu, Ensemble Écoute… Eclectic musician, in 2017 she co-founded Gavarnie Ensemble with which she develops a chamber music season and she creates multidisciplinary projects.

In 2018 she recorded for the label Brilliant Classics Music for Bassoon and Piano and, in 2021, Mozart Contemporaries. 18th Century Music for Bassoon.

Holder of a Master’s degree in History of Art (University of Zaragoza), a Master’s degree in Music and Musicology (University of Paris-Sorbonne) and the Diplôme d’État, Carmen has been involved since 2016 in the DÉMOS project carried by the Philharmonie de Paris; she also teaches her instrument at the Conservatory of the 13th arrondissement of Paris since 2018.
