Beethoven l'Africain

Friday
26 March 2021
20h45

Théâtre André Malraux de Gagny

Based on Nadine Gordimer’s short story “Beethoven was one sixteenth black” on Nelson Mandela’s letters from prison

Passionate about the cultures of the world, Fabio Vacchi has always been inspired by African music, even if his writing is mainly based on the Western classical tradition. In his eyes, as new walls are erected and we let so many people drown in the Mediterranean sea, the music shows the obvious: “Civilizations meet. It is only incivilities that collide. ”

Participatory concert with projection of photographs by Micheline Pelletier
