49th Cervantino International Festival

Composed in 2009, Silvia Colasanti’s Orfeo is a mélologue for narrator and instrumental ensemble. The text is taken from Books X and XI of Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Commissioned by the Instituzione Universitaria dei Concerti, the first performance took place in November 2009 at the Aula Magna of the Universita La Sapienza in Rome. The French version of the piece was commissioned by the Paris Mozart Orchestra.

On the occasion of the prestigious Cervantino International Festival, the Paris Mozart Orchestra conducted by Claire Gibault will present Orfeo for the very first time in Mexico.
