Cécile Beune
Timpanist
After obtaining a First Prize in Percussion at the CNR-CSP in Paris, as well as the Diploma of Higher Musical Studies in Orchestra Training within the same institution, Cécile Beune continued her training by participating for several seasons in the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester.
She later perfected her skills under the guidance of Wieland Welzel, Principal Timpanist of the Berliner Philharmoniker, and then collaborated as Principal Timpanist with major European orchestras such as the Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nationale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and in France with the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine, the Orchestre National d’Ile de France, La Chambre Philharmonique, Orchestra della Toscana, among others, under the baton of prestigious conductors such as C. Abbado, P. Boulez, P. Jordan, A. Orozco-Estrada, M. Franck, P. Järvi, C. Eschenbach, A. Altinoglu, E. Krivine, I. Metzmacher, J. Conlon, P. Eötvös, M. W. Chung, T. Sokhiev, among others.
In addition, holding the State Diploma of Percussion Professor, she is also passionate about teaching at the Conservatoire de Rambouillet.
