Étienne Lamatelle
Trombonist
Born in Tours, Étienne Lamatelle began playing the trombone at the age of seven and continued his training at the Tours Conservatory until he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2002. He obtained his 1st Prize unanimously in June 2006 and joined the advanced concert cycle in 2007.
Trombonist in the Gardiens de la Paix Orchestra, he also teaches at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory in the 13th arrondissement of Paris and performs regularly in the Parisian orchestras (Opera, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Radio France Orchestra) and under the direction of the greatest conductors (Pierre Boulez, Ricardo Muti, Gustavo Dudamel, Kurt Mazur, etc.).
He has developed an intense activity as a chamber musician with the brass quintet Or Notes Brass, winner of 5 international first prizes (Paris, Lyon, Munich, Passau).
Étienne Lamatelle joins the Paris Mozart Orchestra for the 2021-2022 season, including the La Maestra Competition and a tour in the most beautiful halls in Europe.
