Murmures du rucher

Melologist for narrator and orchestra
World premiere: 2025

Murmures du rucher is a musical and poetic piece inspired by Maurice Maeterlinck’s book La Vie des abeilles (The Life of the Bee). Through words and music, it follows the life cycles of a beehive in seven scenes, performed by twelve musicians and a narrator. Both delicate and committed, the work gives voice to the bees — fragile yet powerful symbols of our bond with the living world. Fiona Monbet unfolds a narrative, rhythmic and organic musical language, drawing on her roots in both classical music and jazz.
