Médéric Debacq

Bassoonist

Médéric Debacq graduated from the CRR de Lille in bassoon, harpsichord, chamber music, early music, and composition.

In 2003, he was admitted to the CNSMD de Paris in Marc Trenel’s class and obtained a prize in German bassoon and chamber music in 2007 while continuing to enrich his education through the practice of baroque bassoon and Gregorian chant. He then joined the advanced woodwind concert performer program in the classes of Gilbert Audin and Lionel Bord before completing a Master’s degree in Orchestra at the HEM de Genève with Alfonso Venturieri in 2010.

Médéric has had the opportunity to regularly perform as a soloist (Mozart’s bassoon concerto with the orchestra of the CRR de Lille, Pleyel’s concertante with the Orchestre des Lauréats du CNSMD, etc.) and to record Hummel’s Grand Concerto for bassoon with orchestra.

Alongside his studies, he secured a position as a bassoonist with the Gendarmerie Mobile Orchestra in 2005 and performed as principal bassoonist with the Ulster Orchestra (Northern Ireland) in 2012. He is currently a bassoonist with the Paris Mozart Orchestra and performs regularly with prestigious ensembles such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Orchestre de Paris, Opéra National de Paris, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, etc., under the baton of the greatest conductors.

Médéric is fully committed to the creation and dissemination of contemporary repertoire. He is a member of the ensemble Multilatérale, ensemble 2e2m, ensemble C Barré, and collaborates with the ensemble Cairn and Musicatreize.

Passionate about teaching, which enriches his career as a performer, he holds the Certificat d’Aptitude and teaches at the CRR de Paris and the CRD de Bourg-la-Reine/Sceaux.
