Olha Dondyk

Conductor

The young Olha Dondyk, aged 19, begins her career as a conductor in Kyiv and is studying in Cologne under the tutelage of Alexander Rumpf. She participates in the musical “Kai and Gerda” by A. Bondarenko as an assistant conductor with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. In 2022, as the invasion of Ukraine by Russia begins, she takes refuge in Germany and, thanks to the support of the people she meets, continues her artistic journey. Alongside her studies, she joins the cultural front line with numerous concerts introducing Ukrainian music to the German public. As an assistant conductor, Olha participated in the production of the children’s opera “Brundibar” by Hans Krasa in Leipzig. In January 2024, Olha Dondyk conducted the Concert for Ukraine with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and two months later participated in the international competition La Maestra, co-founded and co-directed by Claire Gibault.
