Guillaume Pierlot

Oboist

Born in 1982, Guillaume PIERLOT began playing the oboe at the age of 9 under the guidance of his grandfather, Pierre PIERLOT.

He entered the Conservatoire National de Région de Rueil-Malmaison in the class of Daniel ARRIGNON, where he obtained a First Prize unanimously in the advanced level in 2000, followed by First Prizes in excellence level in 2001 and virtuosity in 2002. He then continued his studies at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris with Jean-Claude JABOULAY before being admitted in 2003 to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Jacques TYS. In 2007, he was awarded the Diploma of Higher Education with honors unanimously.

He is the co-founder of the wind quintet PENTATONIC, with which he obtained a First Prize unanimously at the CNR de Rueil-Malmaison. He also leads the Trio des Cadets (2 oboes and English horn), and the Trio FAGUIBOB (oboe, clarinet, and bassoon), with which he obtained the Diploma of Higher Education in chamber music at the CNSM de Paris in the class of David Walter in 2008. With these ensembles, he performs concerts in various festivals.

He also performs with major orchestras in Paris (Opéra de Paris, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Ensemble Intercontemporain de Paris, Orchestre National d’Ile de France…) and in the provinces (Opéra de Tours, Opéra de Toulon…). He has played under the direction of conductors such as Kurt Masur, Christoph Eschenbach, Riccardo Muti, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniele Gatti, Philippe Jordan, Susanna Mälkki, Peter Eötvös…

He joined the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris in 2018.
