Festival Messiaen au Pays de la Meije
Église Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption de La Grave
The Paris Mozart Orchestra is delighted to announce its first appearance at the Festival Messiaen au Pays de la Meije, a major event dedicated to contemporary musical creation. We will have the pleasure of performing on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the church of La Grave, with a program that brings today’s musical languages into dialogue with the legacy of Olivier Messiaen.
Conducted by Claire Gibault, the evening will feature composer and pianist Orlando Bass and his work Ô, où s’en vont les ruisseaux, as well as 6 Encores by Luciano Berio, this year’s featured composer, and an excerpt from Messiaen’s Catalogue d’oiseaux. The concert will be enriched by the presence of Erik Orsenna as narrator, alongside actress Victoire du Bois.
This first participation in the Festival Messiaen marks an important milestone for the Paris Mozart Orchestra, in line with its commitment to living music, contemporary composition, and dialogue between the arts. We are honored to join this rigorous and inspiring program, in a setting deeply connected to Messiaen’s world.
