Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante works, blending elements of both symphonies and concertos, reflected his ideal of brotherhood — a value shared by both the Mannheim Orchestra and the Paris Mozart Orchestra.
It’s only fitting, then, that the PMO’s principal players will take center stage as soloists for this concert. Composed in Paris in 1778 and Salzburg in 1779, the Sinfonia Concertante for winds (oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon), KV 297b, and the one for violin and viola, KV 364, both highlight the key of E-flat major. This key, closely tied to the Empfindsamkeit style, opens the door to a deeply emotional and expressive musical experience.
A concert celebrating emotion and connection.
