the season
2025-2026
Now more than ever, in this time of economic crisis and severe budget cuts — particularly in the cultural sector — we continue to uphold the values of sharing and solidarity that are so dear to us, while staying inventive and guided by the principle of happy sobriety.
The opening of our concert season is placed under the sign of Fraternità, so cherished by Mozart, and shines a spotlight on the talents of the orchestra’s soloists.
Our orchestral conducting masterclasses are now open to the public, further strengthening our mission of transmission and paving the way for the unmissable event that the La Maestra International Competition for Women Conductors has become. The next edition will take place at the Philharmonie de Paris at the end of February 2026.
"The Murmur of the Hive", the PMO’s 2025–26 new creation inspired by The Life of the Bee by Maurice Maeterlinck — and featured notably in the "Orchestre au Bahut" educational season — has been entrusted to Franco-Irish composer, violinist, and conductor Fiona Monbet. This project reflects our ongoing commitment to gender equality and to raising public awareness about biodiversity.
Finally, our third-place initiative “Art, Culture, and Mental Health”, developed in close collaboration with the Centre Hospitalier George Sand in Bourges, is taking shape. A new branch of the Philosophy in the Hospital Chair, dedicated to the relationship between the arts and mental health, will be inaugurated in Bourges this November by philosopher Cynthia Fleury.
Bourges — where our artistic residency continues to grow richer and more exciting every day, with concerts at the Maison de la Culture, the Conservatoire, and in schools across the city and the Cher department!
This season, we will joyfully celebrate the 15th anniversary of the orchestra as a new beginning — surrounded by a united, caring, and talented team, and of course, by all our musicians.
